In this TEDx talk I adress how anthropology (or social anthropology) can teach us how to travel and through this understand other cultures. This is in comparison to the standard ways of traveling, specifically mass tourism.
Misrepresentation of cultures, romanticizing old cultural traits, and presenting them as reality, and how this lead to stereotyping both at the level of cultural wholes and at the level of individuals.

A bamboo grove in Kathmandu, Napal, and bamboo's ecology and use in culture, inspired me to formulate some thoughts about how to understand cultures, the relations between cultures, and the various ways of traveling within cultures and explore them, as well as between them.
