Evaluation as Profession

1st Biannual Regional Conference of Evaluators

Formalizing the Profession of Evaluation

The 1st Biannual Regional Conference of Evaluators (Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 28-29 October 2015) was a great success. The conference was organized jointly by the Evaluation Society in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkan Evaluation Network (WBEN). The theme of the conference was: "Policy impact evaluation in Western Balkan." I presented a paper on the use of stakeholder analysis in the evaluation of development projects. Below is a link to a photo series that documents this conference.

I bring this up at this point because interesting things are happening on the Balkans when it comes to formalizing the profession of evaluation. For Bulgaria I have taken the initiative to organize a national network of evaluators, the Bulgarian Network on Monitoring and Evaluation (BEN). The founding meeting will take place in June 2016. More information to come.
